135 – A REVOLUTION IN TENNIS DATA
DEVELOPED BY TENNIS COACHES
135 Tennis Intelligence partners with tennis coaches and academies in Australia to deliver match analysis outcomes for players.
135 provides players with systems, processes, technology and services to improve their “Tennis IQ” from the start of their competitive journey through to an elite junior player and beyond.
Everything 135 does is provided through a player’s coach to ensure consistent messaging that’s taken from the training court to the match court. We assist with developmental goals based on individual matchplay data, and provide it in such a way that makes it easy to understand.
135’s technology (135 App, 135 Analyser and 135 Camera) are provided as part of a service, NOT as “set-and-forget” tech. Analytics in isolation won’t mean a great deal without an expert Analyst to interpret results.
Last of all, the level of service we provide is catered to a player’s level ie it’s individual, based on a player’s level and their coach’s recommendation.
Welcome to 135 Australia!

FAQ
135 profiles players using the 135 Framework, which examines the tactics and strategies that players use best, particularly when they win, and the ones in which they require work.
- 135 profile (serve patterns)
- 246 profile (return patterns)
- 7+ profile (long rally patterns)
It’s important to note that each player is different, so profiles vary.
The other important aspect is that we talk about “win rates”. For example, when we talk about “a win rate on 1”, we mean unreturnable 1st serves compared to double faults. If your win rate on 1 is 80%, it means you serve 2 double faults for every 8 unreturnable first serves.

135 is simply the first three shots executed by a server in a given rally. Broadly, we measure player performance by the following metrics:
- 135 profile (serve patterns)
- 246 profile (return patterns)
- 7+ profile (long rally patterns)
It’s important to note that each player is different, so profiles vary.
The other important aspect is that we talk about “win rates”. For example, when we talk about “a win rate on 1”, we mean unreturnable 1st serves compared to double faults. If your win rate on 1 is 80%, it means you serve 2 double faults for every 8 unreturnable first serves.

Group and individual reports are produced in the 135 Analyzer. They show information pertinent to the group, with comparisons from the most recent match to the previous 5 matches.
Group reporting then filters into individual reporting, which is where the specific strengths and weaknesses of a player’s game will be clearer.
135’s reporting allows coaches to see, at a glance, important information that can be used in group practice sessions.
135 Assist is a system of shot identification and player position for every shot played by each player in a match.
To date, tennis analytics has largely been about point ending data ie winners and errors.
The 135 Framework takes that one step further by measuring player tactics and strategy.
135 Assist takes this an extra step by adding each shot in each rally. Not just each shot, 135 Assist shows forehand cross/line/inside out/inside in for example.
We use 135 Assist to demonstrate, among other things, whether a player is changing the direction of the ball too often; or that they are playing too many “defensive 3s” (serve +1) because they don’t hit spots on serve.
An even simpler way to look at it is this: does it matter that your player (or their opponent) hits 10 smash winners in a match, or is it more important to know how they got to the smash ie the “assists”?

Yes. When a player signs into the Analyzer they are taken directly to their own profile page. From there they can navigate to match data, video, filtering etc. A player cannot see the data or footage of any other players.
A Progress Video is no longer than 5 minutes. Your 135 Analyst will run through a screen recording to which your player and their coach can refer at their next lesson and beyond.
The earlier they start viewing and learning about data and how to apply it to their own match strategies and tactics, the better.
As soon as a player enters a competitive yellow ball program with aspirations for higher levels of tennis, they, their coach and their parents should be thinking about how to capture information about the way they play.
Consults usually last between 45 minutes and one hour and give player, parent and coach a clear understanding of strengths and areas that require more work.
Consults focus on strategy and tactics executed by players, not stroke production.
We have developed a very specific method of consultation with players. Our “5 Cs” of player consulting ensures that players leave with more confidence than they had when they walked in.
135 started life as an app in 2017. Under the name “GT STATS” we further developed into so much than an app.
We changed our name to “135 Tennis Analytics” in 2020 to reflect both tennis and our 135 Framework.
Our last and final iteration is to “135 Tennis Intelligence”. For more information on our name, have a look here.
135 is headquartered in Australia with operations in the US, Canada plus analysts and partners all over the world.
